The International Tennis Hall of Fame preserves and promotes the history of tennis and celebrates its champions, thereby serving as a vital partner in the growth of tennis globally. The ITHF is located in Newport, Rhode Island and is the official, international Hall of Fame for the sport of tennis.
Induction into the Hall of Fame is the Ultimate Honor in Tennis, and to date has been presented to 264 Hall of Famers representing 27 nations. Located in Newport, Rhode Island in the United States, the Hall of Fame honors these legends and chronicles the sport’s history in an interactive museum, digital experiences, and global programming.

Conchita Martinez: For the Love of the Game | Season 2, Episode 11
Many tennis players start by hitting a ball against a wall - but Conchita Martinez took that early pastime to a new level. Watching her brothers and father play on the courts outside of her apartment as a child gave her spark to try, and she "loved it from the very beginning".
Her imaginary matches against her heroes caught the eye of local coaches, and soon Martinez moved full-time to Barcelona at age 12 to train. Despite dealing with homesickness, the payoff was quick as she captured her first WTA title at age 16 and reached the fourth round of Roland-Garros. She details her mindset in big moments on court, and how her naturally relaxed personality paid dividends. She shares her love for playing for her country in Fed Cup and the Olympics, why clay gave her more time to "express herself" and how it came to be that a grass tournament - Wimbledon - gave her a career triumph.

Always followed Mac's career very closely. Such a shame that the 2nd half of his career was so much worse than the first half. Never even reached a Slam final from 86 onwards, retired in 92

I wonder why the American joarnalists interrupted Edberg speak about his match in the Davis cup final 1984 , where he and Anders Jarryd won over John McEnroe Peter Fleming in the double . Sweden won the final 4-1. When John McEnroe held his own speech at his Induction ceromy , it took over 20 minuts, they did not interrupt it.

Pre 1993, the best tennis player I've ever seen. Monica had no weaknesses on the court. So skilled, so fast and so powerful.
If Monica wasn't stabbed in 1993, she would be on the list of Athlete of the Decade of the 1990's together with Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Z Zidane, Pete Sampras, Sachin Tendulkar and Ken Griffey Jr
If not stabbed, I say Monica dominates women's tennis in the 1990's and she is stopped in her dominance once the Williams sisters enter the tennis circuit.
